Happy Honda Days is a long-held marketing tradition to celebrate Honda’s fantastic holiday and end-of-year deals. Sales events for Honda are always a big deal, but when we had the opportunity to do a branded content campaign with NBC Universal and Illumination Studios to help cross-promote the 2018 animated revival of The Grinch, it was a gift that kept on giving!
I produced all 360 activations for this disruptive multi-million dollar campaign working closely with stakeholders at NBC Universal, Illumination Studios and the Seuss Estate to create a 24 hour media blitz across all of Honda’s social & digital platforms (including a saucy Twitter takeover), broadcast spots, Snapchat ads, Today Show activations, digital banners, homepage takeovers and more. Not only was the timeline to create double the volume of Happy Honda Days assets tight, but we had to partner very closely with NBCU and Illumination to adjust the source material (Grinch animation & voiceovers) to directly match the upcoming film. This was a massive team effort and gained press recognition from Variety, AdAge, PR Week and more.
